A journey completed, a circle drawn

Meta_and_mary_anne_2 Many of you might remember the story of Meta, a young woman who died in a car wreck and the extraordinary story of her leave-taking, a community coming together to ensure her safe passage.

Her mother, diagnosed with cancer three months after Meta’s death, has now completed her own leave-taking.

Mary Anne ‘s life and love and extraordinary generosity will be celebrated this evening at 6:30pm ET. If you can, light a candle for her then.

In peace.

I will keep her family in my thoughts and prayers. May they find peace in the love she exuded.

The journey of life is such an amazing thing. How time just doesn’t stop. Tonight, at 6:30 I will be at a graduation for one of ‘my kids’ I taught in Kindergarten. She’s very special to me since I taught her for four years. She’s like my first daughter. Wow…

We’re all in different places on this journey in life. May God bless all our paths, no matter where we are.

  • I just read your beautiful post about Meta last night, Patti. I’m so sorry to hear about her mother.

  • Love and light to all, through the ache of it all.

I will pray for those left behind, and be happy that they are reunited.

  • I hope they are together again. My thoughts are with their family and friends.

MAB was like a mother to me and Meta like a little sister. I’ll never forget that last Christmas together, cozy and warm from the potbelly stove, all full from soup and that huge mound of brownies that Raj and Marc devoured. We browsed lazily through family photo albums while Meta snoozed on the couch, looking like such an angelic child. Campfires at the cabin will never be the same, I can’t even imagine going to Asheville again anymore. All of your extended family in Florida misses and loves you both so much. I still haven’t listened to that message you recorded for me, but I will, when I have the strength.
