If you were dying, would you hug more freely?

My thanks to Mari Gonzalez who sent this to me. You might remember Emma’s "Free Hugs" experiment. Here it is in a slightly different context. Some things are universal.

If you were dying, would you hug more freely? You are dying. You just don’t know when. Hug, hug.

  • Hug, hug, back to you Patti!

  • Patti, the story of Emma’s free-hugs adventure was one I had not read before now. What a huge, life-enlarging experience! As much as I enjoyed the tale (and had tears in my eyes as she actually did it–an occupational hazard of being a parent), I was also struck by how much Emma has grown up in the last two years.

  • Patti,
Looking forward to reading your book and seeing you in Madison at my favorite bookstore. We seem to have a lot in common beyond Daily Good–Sri Lanka, learning from sudden meaning in time we didn’t realize was so short, offering some sort of connection between one moment and the next. Take a look at http://www.sarvodayausa.org or http://www.onepeace and see if rings even a small bell. If so, let’s talk. No need to post this, but I’d value the chance to correspond a bit about your experiences and ideas. To paraphrase, we seem to be a verb…

I saw an abrazos gratis crew in Buenos Aires, Argentina this summer (well, winter for them) too! A moment that made this far-from-home California girl smile, as does this video :) Thanks much for posting! Hug, hug indeed.
