Kate and her desire lines and a boat

Verb_art_iredale One of the artists whose work is in Life is a Verb is Kate Iredale.

In addition to contributing amazing art to the book, Kate is stop #2 on the LIAV Blog Tour ’08! Go hear her story about LIAV and while you’re there, take a look at her beautiful Encyclopedia of Me. What would your "encyclopedia of me" look like? I love her gallery of Artist Trading Cards, too. My thanks, Kate, for everything!

Kate also tells me she’s hopping in a boat to attend my September 10th book reading in Seattle! I want to commute by boat!

Can’t wait to meet her there! I want to have one copy of LIAV signed by all the poets and artists, so will bring my copy with me for Kate to sign!

  • I’m just loving all the new people out there that I’m meeting because of you, your blog and your book. Now I’m off to read all about Kate!

I just wanted to let you know that I just sent the creative community of Fresno, CA to your website and to find your book! We have a forum called Mindhub where creatives hash things out – sometimes it is a place to post a new show or art exhibit, sometimes it gets into policies and proposals. Recently, it has been heated debates about politics, until this morning a member asked if we could talk about something else – and just share what book we’re reading lately. I wrote that they should all come see you! Here is the email I sent them…

Thanks for bringing the conversation back to books!!

Here is a link to a brilliant website – called 37 Days – the background is that someone close to her was diagnosed with a life threatening disease and died 37 days later. Ever since, she has written about embracing life – and what would you do if you were given 37 days to live. She is an award winning writer and blogger and has just gotten a book deal. Her new book is called, “Life is a Verb” and can be found on her website

or on Amazon.com – I highly recommend it. She is a delicious writer. She will make you cry, make you laugh, make you want to go hug someone fiercely, make you want to savor your surroundings and lavish love on all those close to you.

You cannot go wrong by visiting her sight and soaking up her joy!!

    Thanks,
    Liesl Garner

  • I just found bought your book at the Barnes and Nobles in University Village-Seattle. I cannot wait to get started with my “intentions.” The great art work on the cover caught my eye…..but, I think that I had previously seen a reference to your book on someones blog.
Hope to see you in Seattle!
