Retreat to move forward

Sometimes you have to retreat to move forward.

The next Life is a Verb retreat will be held near Asheville, NC, from April 24-26, 2009. We'd love to have you there.

Given our work schedule for this year, it's possible–and at this point, likely–that this will be the only LIAV retreat in 2009, so I hope you might be able to join us in April for a weekend of exploration, fun, and connection.

Here's what some recent LIAV retreat participants had to say:

I learned more about "how to write" in those three days than I thought possible.  The structure of the weekend made it so easy.  Now, I sit down to write and it just flows.  In the process I was reminded of so much that I once knew…and forgot.  The benefit is so much greater than the cost.  And I made so many new friends. -Bruce (Florida)

Patti Digh and David Robinson are, together, amazing as retreat facilitators. The combination of their strengths allows for a retreat which is both contemplative and experiential, the two interwoven in a way which is powerful and revelatory for the participant. It is my fervent hope to be able to attend another of their retreats. –or– Patti and David rocked the house, and I'll be back!! -Rick (Colorado)

Fun, interesting, thought-provoking… these are just a few words that i can use to describe my weekend at the Bend of Ivy Lodge during the LIAV 2008 retreat. Comfortable, too, because the lodge is so beautiful, inviting and welcoming. And scrumptious–the food is completely amazing! We ate like royalty. Community–I met so many wonderful people, had so many great conversations, and received so many warm hugs. We did laugh and play games and talk and cry and hug and eat! Challenging as well, as Patti and David invited us to explore and delve into our lives and histories and minds to find the deeper meaning behind our stories. Simply wonderful. -Jylene (Ohio)

Come learn with us how to say yes, be generous, love more, trust yourself, speak up, and slow down.

The world is against me. One of the initiatives I work on is the GREAT STRIDES walk program–a nationwide fundraising program for CFF. There are 12 fundraising walks across the state of Virginia. Though they are year-round projects for me, the actual events are in the spring of every year. I am WORKING walks on BOTH the weekend of May 2-3 AND the weekend of April 25-26 (and six other weekends in the spring). I would LOVE to attend a retreat with other 37 dayers. And, truth be told, I would love to be a Cincinati pig with you. So sad about this.

Let me send encouraging thoughts to have another retreat later in 2009 or to start a “wish-list”/early signup or whatever you want to call it for any retreats in 2010.
