50th birthday year giveaway extravaganza #2!

Bracelet desire lines This week as part of my 50th birthday year giveaway of 50 things I love, I'm giving away a 37days bracelet that reminds the wearer of one of my favorite phrases: "Follow your desire lines."

Handcrafted by artist Sarah Blaine, this one's on me. Sarah is also going to contribute a 37days bracelet to my birthday giveaway — and was going to this week, but broke her arm snowboarding on Monday and can't make art for a few weeks! So watch for another bracelet to be given away once she has healed enough to create art again…and in the meantime, our wishes for fantastic healing, Sarah!

This week's giveaway is going to happen at my Life is a Verb reading in Atlanta on Thursday evening, February 5th. So I hope if you're in that area, you'll join me at Charis Books at 7:30pm.

Let's read and talk and laugh a bit in these cold days in a store that I've never yet visited, but that has captured my imagination.

    So, does “this one’s on me” mean the bracelet actually belongs to you? If so, you must have read my mind (or I already commented on this and can’t remember) because I think giving your own possessions away during your 50th year is a good spiritual practice. Have fun in Atlanta!

    Oh, I think this giveaway is the one for me! Follow Your Desire Lines was the first ever post I read at 37 Days and there is no doubt that it changed my life. Ask my husband. Ask my friends. Heck, ask my dogs. The phrase is even in my essay for Day 30!

    This is just beautiful! As my illustrations for the book were based on this essay (which I LOVE, btw), I would be absolutely thrilled to be wearing this on my wrist.
