Let’s meet in Deerfield, New Hampshire!

Ddr-feet I'm going to Sturbridge, Massachusetts, soon to give a speech to a wonderful group of home care professionals.

When I mentioned this fact on 37days, a woman named Debbie Kelley emailed to explain to me how close Deerfield, New Hampshire, is to Sturbridge, Massachusetts.

She also mentioned that if I came to Deerfield to do a reading from Life is a Verb, I could play Dance Dance Revolution and Rock Band at her house all night long afterward.

I've never played Dance Dance Revolution before, so of course the answer was YES!

When she mentioned I could also play the drums in Rock Band, the deed was done.

Debbie has arranged an amazing gathering at the Lazy Lion Cafe in Deerfield, New Hampshire, on June 2nd. I'll read from 7-8pm and we'll talk and sign books and have fun from 8-9pm. Can you come? I hope so! Let me know if you'll be there!

My thanks to Debbie for all her hard work to make this happen…

(By the way, do you need a speaker for a conference or other event? I hope you'll keep me in mind! If you have Dance Dance Revolution, I think you know what the answer will be…smile.)

  • I read somewhere that when you want something all you have to so is ask so…the rest is history. I want people to know that Deerfield NH is only one hour north of Boston so don’t rule this out just because it sounds as if we live in a field of deer in the middle of no where. Hope to meet you at the Lazy Lion Cafe on June 2nd.

  • Patti,

I will gladly meet you in Deerfield I can’t wait! Is there any chance that you could make a trip over to the Boston area after or around your trip to Deerfield? Its a quick drive on I-90 into Boston. I dont have DDR but I do have guitar hero, have you ever played that game? Its addicting. I promise you will play until your fingers hurt. There are also some wonderful bookstores and restaurants in the area that you should not miss out on! So Patti, I ask you would you like to come to Boston?

  • Hi Patti,

So excited and have marked my calendar in ink for June 2nd ! I live in Manchester, NH (about 1/2 hour or so away from the deer in the field ;-). I can’t think of anything I would rather do on a Tuesday night that listen to you read and to hang out with you and your readers. Even more than Rock Band (I am the singer !)! Way more than Dance, Dance Rev cause I am way too uncoordinated for that!
Can’t wait to see you there !

  • Argh! My trip to Cape Cod is off by a week – otherwise I’d have made plans to hang out in Deerfield with you. BUT if you find yourself coming over the border toward Toronto, I can promise you a great group AND a DDR all night long :) Enjoy your time in New England!

o.k., yay! Is this the closest you’ll be coming to Boston? If so, I am there! I just love the name of the cafe. I’m typing this with my own lazy lion (big orange cat) in my lap. :-)

Just found out you were coming to my neck of the woods, I’ll be there! Can’t wait! Thank you Lazy Lion, do people know how wonderful this place is? YUM!
