walk with fear, hold hands with it, make peace with it.

Artsatarmory

I know one thing for sure: I love writing. And what I’ve learned this year is that I also love teaching about writing. And I love teaching about writing with two fabulous women, both NY Times best-selling authors, both beautiful souls: Jen Louden and Susan Piver. When Jen’s big heart and Susan’s big soul and my big head get together (the big head thing is a joke about how freakishly large my noggin is compared to theirs), I can tell you there is magic. Pure magic.

We discovered this first online in our conversations with each other, and then in person at a writing retreat we taught in Portland, Oregon. That retreat was sold out and fabulous; people on the East Coast invited us to come there and so we are: SEPTEMBER 23-24, 2011, near BOSTON, Massachusetts.

We come to writing from different perspectives, which makes for a beautiful day. You’ll have the opportunity to meet others who write or want to write, you’ll have the opportunity to write, and you’ll have the opportunity to ask any question you want to ask about writing. And I can assure you, there will be much laughter, many a-ha moments, and a sense of peacefulness about walking into the fire of writing after you leave.

We got together on Skype to talk last week about the retreat and decided to record our conversation about the fear of writing we all feel at times. Is it good enough? Does anyone care? Will people get hurt if I write my truth? Do I have what it takes? I hope you’ll enjoy the short video in which we talk about making fear our companion – and I hope you’ll consider joining us for a retreat that can change your writing life forever.

If the video doesn’t appear above, you can go here to watch it. For more information about the retreat and to register, go here.
