  • wow. I’m not sure what just happened, but I’m sobbing. There is magic and mystery in this that is quite amazing. I feel like I have been touched by the Divine, in some small way.

    Thank you.

  • Years ago when I could not tell you where I was headed I came upon Whyte’s book The Heart Aroused while working part time in a bookstore.

Reading it gave me hope that I might want to be in the marketplace and that I might have something to offer.

There is a great line from the movie Contact where the hero arrives on an alien landscape and utters, “they should have sent a poet”.

    Makes sense to me.

    Keep creating…it freaks people out,
    Mike

  • I’ve heard David read this poem, and it is life changing.

Wish I could be in Asheville and listen to him with youse! He will recite poetry, his, Mary Oliver’s and others for 2 hours or more without a written note. His heart and mind are remarkable.

Thank you for this–and I’m leaving it all behind.

  • “…say the old prayer of rough love…”

Killer line. I love, love, love this poem. Thank you.

*Off to buy some of his books now*
