write-your-own friday.

Tybee sky wow3 The sky is a remarkable thing. We watch it, believe that it holds the souls of our dearly beloveds who have departed, look to it for inspiration. We see elephants and magic hats in the clouds of it.

This week, take a look at the write-your-own friday instructions, and then be out under that sky where you are for ten minutes a day, in a chair, in your yard, and look up. Then write.

Show me the sky that you see, every day, for a week. Does it seem just a blank slate of gray, or of blue? Look into that slate more deeply (into what Tess calls the Cloud Bones) and show me that sky.

(Several folks have sent their responses – or part of them – from last week's writing prompt . Feel free to send and I'll post what I can!)

  • so excited to have found this. I love writing prompts. Thanks especially because this is the week of the harvest moon, when in the northern latitudes it will appear bigger than normal at rise…

You so inspire me. You can put feelings into words. That amazes me. And I’m the lucky recipient of your words.

  • Love this idea. Did my first bit of writing last night and really just appreciated the time to turn over words and communicate in a non-email, non-IM, even non-twitter way. Less like regular communication, more like soul speaking.
