Tori’s favorite color was purple

A month ago, I asked you to keep a young girl named Tori in your thoughts and prayers.

It appears she was murdered the same day she was abducted.

None of us deserves this solitary end, alone and scared. And least of all a young, defenseless child.

A young scared girl. My heart breaks with this news. Just look at that smile.

Tori's favorite color was purple, so for a few days, 37days has gone purple in her name. Perhaps you can wear purple tomorrow and send me a picture of your tribute to Tori. I'll forward it on.

Light a candle for Tori's sweet soul tonight, for her grieving family and community and–yes–for the two young people who murdered her.

So very, very sad…
Today was my first day of trying to “Love Unlovable People” and also to love the “unlovable” in myself. But this is a hard one for Day One, Patti! Just like you loving your teacher in the book ! I guess I can just try to love that broken person who did this hideous thing. Like you say, loving them doesn’t mean you condone even the tiniest little bit of what they did. Part of them is broken, just like parts of me are broken. And after all, Love is the answer to every question…

The whole thing makes me so angry. And sad. The poor child. That devastated family The arrogance of the inept police force. All of it. When they interrupted for a news brief today I knew it had to be bad news. Terrible, terrible stuff.

I am such a sensitive person it is really hard for me to write this and not cry for this sweet sweet child(too late). I pray for Tori’s family to reach out to God, forgive earnestly and quickly then leave the rest to him to handle as only he can. My heart is breaking just thinking about the pain her family is in. I wish I could make it all better for them, however that is not possible so I will just pray.

Another senseless, and heartbreaking tragedy. Thank for putting it out there. I will gladly wear purple for Dear Tori. I no longer commit to a favorite color, but at that age mine too was purple. I have a candle lit as I write this, for ALL those you mention.

I live in a community about 40 minutes away from this child’s hometown, so all our local / regional newspapers are full of this horrific event.

In some cultures, purple is a colour of mourning …

I don’t know how I missed this post. As a fellow Ontarian, Tori’s life will always be remembered here. The tragedy that befall this innocent child should never be visited on anyone. We mourn her passing and give thanks for her life. Thank you for such a wonderful post.
