21 days to go!

21 These 37 days for me are full of travel. Putting my walk first in every day has been tough. Some days, I have failed. But I'm trying hard to move on from beating myself up and sabotaging the rest of the 37 days, which is my usual pattern. I'm focusing on recognizing myself out of patterns instead of repeating myself out of them. There is a cost to repeating myself out of them.

Big revelations in these days, which I'll write about when I'm not in a car speeding toward an airport in the fog before the sun emerges in the sky from wherever it sleeps.

I'll post a list tonight of all those who are participating in the 37days challenge and blogging about it. If you'd like to add your name to that list, leave a comment.

I'm counting down from the end now, getting to zero. It just so happens that three weeks from today I will enter my very first ever race, the Flying Pig Half-Marathon, accompanied by 13 women from 9 states. More on that this week.

Do you believe I can finish it? All 13.1 miles of it?

I'm not sure. I'm really not sure. But as Amy said, just walk a mile. Just one. Today. And I have sheer stubbornness on my side.

Three weeks is a blink. Make it count. For no one but yourself. A lot can happen in three weeks. I'm banking on it. Have you missed a day or two or three? We are in the Land of Happy Supportive But Not Enabling Amnesty.

“sheer stubbornness” I’ve been accused of stubbornness many times. Personally, I think it is underrated! Stubbornness will stand you in good stead in many situations and get you through quite a lot of others. So here’s to your stubbornness (Mr. Brilliant’s opinion may vary), especially on May 3rd!

  • Sheer stubbornness counts for a lot! I know you can finish all 13.1 miles!

You give us all hope – fitting in your commitment to yourself while speeding to and from the airport, missing a day or two – helps me to know I can do it. And I know that if I fall down sometimes, I just get up and dust myself off. I hope we can do the same for you.

21 Days to go! Whoo hoo!

  • We’ve raised $365 so far for Metropolitan Ministries and I’ve got commitments for more to come. We walk 3 weeks from today!! Looking forward to seeing you.

  • Why am I running?

There are now just nineteen days to go before these legs take me on a 13.1 mile journey through the streets of Cinncinnati, Ohio. I’ve been training for a half-marathon for the past two and half months and even though…
