I went to Germany today

Verbsgermanywithtext Everywhere I travel to talk about Life is a Verb (MADISON AND MINNEAPOLIS THIS WEEKEND!), I take a small metal "shrine" with me, one filled with gorgeous beads. A woman in Germany named Tari June Goerlitz made it for the book art project (and several other pieces of art--see pages 115, 136, 221 in Life is a Verb!).

Today, as part of our happy Blog Tour ’08, Tari interviews me with some really great questions on her blog, "Tales from Studio Mailbox."

While you’re visiting her blog, you really owe it to yourself to meet Roland the Zen Master, watch her studio come together, and learn about "Miracel Whip" and pretzel anxiety.

This fantastic illustration is by Tari, and came to me with this note: "A red headed German girl just for your interview." She knows I loved living in Munich during college–way back when I had long red braids. You’re the best, Tari. My thanks!
