Book tour news–and an announcement
It’s no secret that I’m loving this book tour, designed, hosted, attended by you. What an incredible, insane pleasure to meet people who have been reading 37days for a week or for years, or artists who contributed the beauty that graces the pages of Life is a Verb, or people who have wandered into a bookstore to use the bathroom and suddenly find me there weeping as I read the story of Yaron. All of you have taken up residence in my heart.A few dates have been added to the book tour and I hope if you’re near one of these cities, you’ll come by to say hello and tell me a bit of your story and perhaps buy a book for your second cousin’s piano teacher – mark your calendar and I’ll provide details when I can think straight (many of the details are already here):
GREENSBORO, NC – this Friday night, October 17th at 7pm! Barnes & Noble at Friendly Center
WAYNESVILLE, NC – Saturday, October 25th at 1pm

TAMPA, FL – Thursday, Dec 4th (at a Barnes & Noble -details to follow)

Other cities in the works include Atlanta, Charlotte, and Santa Barbara, California (and perhaps other locations in California), and more. I’ll let you know!
And now, a moment of truth. I love this book and everything connected with it. I love the feel of the pages and the art and the readers of it. And yet, I miss writing. I feel the sense of urgency to continue these stories for my daughters and I miss the way in which I can play with words and find such joy in it. I haven’t written for too long. I long to say something else, something more.
And so, beginning Monday, October 20th, I’m going back to the roots of 37days and will post one essay each week, on Mondays, just as I did way back in 2005 when 37days began. There may be other posts during the week–perhaps more reader essays about their last 37days or ponderings on the books I’m reading or updates on the book tour–but look for a return to 37days, at last, come Monday.
