Joyful wrecks and strength to your sword arm…

Trudy One of the greatest gifts of 37days and now Life is a Verb? All the amazing people I have met, both virtually and in person, from around the world. Artists and moms and sons and people like you and me facing mortality or denying it…people embracing this one wild and precious life or deferring it. It is extraordinary, this circle of friends in which I find myself, one of whom is Trudy Boyle, a woman I’ve never met but soon will.

Trudy found 37days at a time this past spring when she was beginning chemotherapy. You might recall I offered up a god box for her, to give her strength. Today is Trudy’s birthday, and to celebrate, she offers up to me a beautiful essay about 37days, and about Life is a Verb, on her blog, Joyful Wrecks: Reflections on Living with Illness.

Go, visit Trudy, explore her thoughts on mirrors and fresh strawberries at midnight, and wish her a happy birthday.

I love her thoughts on where Life is a Verb should live in a bookstore–my thanks, Trudy:

"It is a book that defies categories even though it is shelved under ‘self-help.’

In my bookstore (always wanted to have one) I would shelve copies under leadership, psychology, spirituality, health, parenting, education, diversity, creativity and darn near any category that has anything to do whatsoever with making the world a better place."
