your daily rock : name your intention

Your life is either run by circumstance or intention.

You get to choose which one is the North Star.

Some choose (either intentionally or by default) to have themselves blown about by the winds of circumstance–letting their desires and plans be obliterated by external events. They become victims to what is outside themselves, and start using the language of victims: “I couldn’t create the life I wanted because the economy crashed (insert disaster here).”

Others choose (intentionally) to acknowledge that circumstances are sometimes beyond their control, and sometimes not healthy or supportive of their dreams–but they dream anyway. And they use the language of intention: “I cannot change this circumstance, but I am 100% in control of how I am in that circumstance.”

Name your intention. Don’t let circumstance sway you. Acknowledge circumstance, and choose how to be in it.

Love,

  • “I cannot change this circumstance, but I am 100% in control of how I am in that circumstance.” This was what I needed to remember today. I am in control of how I AM in this circumstance. It doesn’t change anything but me. And I am the one who really needs the change.
