your daily rock : make peace.

I give a lot of speeches, and I always end them with this statement from Mother Teresa: “If we have no peace, it is because we have forgotten that we belong to each other.”

We don’t just belong to the ones who agree with us, believe what we believe, look like us, live like us, eat the same foods in the same way. We don’t just belong to the ones who don’t hurt us, don’t challenge us, don’t betray us. “We belong to each other” means all of us–across all those differences, even with all those hurts. Especially with all those hurts.

Make peace today by remembering that we belong to each other. All of us.

Love,
