your daily rock : willingness

“That word is ‘willing.’ It’s an attitude and spirit of cooperation that should permeate our conversations. It’s like a palm tree by the ocean that endures the greatest winds because it knows how to gracefully bend.” -Stephen Kendrick

Willingness is an opening up, isn’t it? It is arms flung open, even if quietly, softly, gently.

Willingness is not loud or needy. Willingness doesn’t insist upon itself or yell  or need to be acknowledged. Then it’s not willingness, but performance. Instead, it gracefully bends toward the sun.

Let this sweet spirit of willingness–to hear someone out, to be open to other options, to let someone else choose, to become a beginner again–permeate your conversations today.

Bend.

Love,
