your daily rock : create spaciousness

We need to breathe.

In The Poetics of Space, Gaston Bachelard talked about spaciousness by invoking the poet Rilke: “Rilke wrote,” Bachelard recounts, “‘These trees are magnificent, but even more magnificent is the sublime and moving space between them, as though with their growth it too increased.”

Clear something out. Give something you have loved to someone who needs in their life now what it represented to you then.

Clear the space in order to grow, like those trees Rilke speaks about.

Let go of 37 things today: objects, stories, limiting beliefs, grudges, socks with no mates. Make a list and count them up, to 37. Breathe in the new space you have created.

Love,
