your daily rock : forgive and let go
I’ve been thinking a lot about forgiveness. And about letting go deeply.
Why is it so hard to forgive and let go? Is it because we are right and they are wrong? Do we hold so tight to our “rightness” and our need to have that “rightness” validated that we stop ourselves from moving forward? Do we carry a heavy burden around with us when forgiveness would lighten our load?
This is important: Ultimately, we don’t forgive others because they deserve it or need it. We forgive because we deserve it and need it.
As Pema Chödrön has said, “If someone comes along and shoots an arrow into your heart, it’s fruitless to stand there and yell at the person. It would be much better to turn your attention to the fact that there’s an arrow in your heart…”
How can you turn your attention to your own heart today?
