your daily rock : linger longer

Morning is a time to linger longer, one hand on the handle of your mug, one on the New York Times.

Evening is a time to linger longer, standing in the kitchen for a moment after cooking dinner, just smelling the spices.

Night is a time to linger longer, after putting your children to bed, standing at the door watching them sleep.

Sunshine is a time to linger longer, standing outside for an extra minute before going into work, your face toward the sky.

A lake is a time to linger longer, sitting on the shore, looking at the trees on the other bank, silently.

Seneca has said, The primary sign of a well-ordered mind is a man’s ability to remain in one place and linger in his own company.

Linger just a little longer today.

  • Hi Patti, I love this!

The sunshine has felt like velvet these days, and I have been lingering in its embrace.

Bless you for sending these my way every day.

    Love and light,
    Sue
