Stop fearing dust

ShadowI’m pleased to be participating in an online dialogue called "Collective Genius," a blog experiment in which a group of folks is noodling around with a different issue each month–this month, the topic is fear.

If you’d like to read my entry into the conversation, it is called "Stop fearing dust" and is here. Linger while there and read some great essays by others as well.

  • “…fears about yourself prevent you from doing your best work, while fears about your reception by others prevent you from doing your own work.” Brilliant. It’s not the first time you’ve mentioned “Art and Fear”…I keep meaning to pick up that book. That was a fabulous essay you wrote on fear. And the shadow talk brought to mind how I spent my entire childhood (without exaggeration) being hunted and chased and terrified and tracked in nightmares. Reading your essay made me realize for the first time that the person who was trying to kill me all that time…was me.

  • Marilyn – Whew. As far as insights go, I’d say that is a big one. Thanks for sharing – it is a haunting thought…

Lucky me that I stumbled accross your blog today. What amazing creative and insightful writing. I am certainly inspired by your words.
I have been thinking of setting up my own blog, however, still reading and researching this amazingly bizarre writing genre.
