your daily rock : bend

Blessed are the hearts that can bend; they shall never be broken
.-Albert Camus

In June 1992, I was hugely pregnant with my older daughter, Emma, and at a conference in Las Vegas. At 4:57am on June 28th, I woke up to what I knew immediately was an earthquake, though I had never experienced one before. The building rolled and swayed; I watched as my clothes swayed back and forth in the closet of my room on the 19th floor, and as the water sloshed out of the toilet bowl with each sway. In that moment, I understood what it means to bend, to move with instead of against.

How can your heart become “bendier” today?

Love,
