2008 Calendars available soon!

Calendar_cover_3On the first day of every month in 2007, I’ve received a wonderful email from a fabulous woman named Shelley who I’ve never met (who? whom? Where’s my friend Rosemary, the Grammar Queen?) with the words "Happy Tiny Little Rubber Bands Day" in the subject line. It’s my first reminder that a new month has arrived, as evidenced by her ceremoniously changing the page on her 2007 37days Calendar, held together (artfully, I hope she’d agree) with chopsticks and tiny rubber bands.

Several weeks ago, I started getting emails from people asking about the 2008 version…and so, the tradition continues with new 2008 37days calendars, which I hope you’ll enjoy! They are on the presses as we speak – 12 months of images and quotes and calendaring to mark the passage of our wild and precious lives.

This year, because last year I nearly went insane (and some might say got there), I’m limiting the run to 100 calendars. They’ve been called "inspirational" and "quirky," "beautiful" and "poignant" by those who bought them this year – my thanks for those kind words – and I hope you’ll enjoy one, a wee reminder throughout 2008 to live as if you only have 37days left. Handcrafted for you on my dining room table with great love and care and a tiny bit of hair-pulling, they will ship the week of November 19th in time for holiday giving–imagine the coincidence!

Calendar_2Last year, half of the calendar proceeds went to a scholarship started in memory of dear Meta, a young woman who died too soon. This year, also in her honor, half of the calendar proceeds will be sent to One Laptop Per Child to buy computers for children who otherwise would never have access to the technology that you and I take for granted, and that we live by. If all 100 calendars sell, we’ll have bought 3 laptops for kids who need them. Shall we?

You can reserve one (or more – wouldn’t they be smashing holiday gifts?) by mailing a check (hey, I know it’s the equivalent of chipping stones into wheels, but where’s the joy and romance in something more high tech like credit cards?), including the number of calendars you’d like and where I should ship them, to: Patti Digh, 37days calendars, P.O. Box 18323, Asheville, NC 28814, USA.

Alternatively, you can use PayPal to send payment to patti at thecircleproject dot com – please note how many you want and where to ship them.

The cost per calendar is $12 + please add $4.00 shipping and handling. Great holiday gifts! Spread the love! Live intentionally! Use more exclamation points! The first 25 people to reserve a calendar will also receive a wee, small gift from me to you. Surprises! More exclamation points!

Redefine_normalWatch this space – pretty soon those 37days bracelets will also be available for holiday gift-giving.

Living with intention – and little tiny rubberband day celebrations – and providing technology to kids who need it – really, isn’t that what life is all about?

  • Patti, Please put me down for 2 calendars (and I’ll put a check in the mail). I can’t tell you what a source of solace and reflection and delight and joy and remembering your calendar has been…in its rightful place smack dab in the center of the bulletin board above my desk. My counselor friend who is Taylor’s grandma and I enjoy the ceremony of rubber band days together. As we read your words for the new month, we look at each other and nod our heads like sages. Okay, we look at each other and nod our heads at what a sage YOU are. ;) This year she’s getting a calendar of her own.

  • hmm…. i think i need a calendar and one of those bracelets.

i will find your mailing address and send you a cheque.

i’ve often wondered how meta’s family is now doing…

  • Marilyn – what a wonderful note – thank you! I hope Taylor’s grandma will enjoy her own calendar, but that you will still join together for rubber band day ceremonies!

Bee – thanks for your note. I know that Meta’s family appreciates the thoughts of all those who are holding them up. The first anniversary of her death in September was yet another passage for them, one of many to come, I’m sure…

  • Hi Patti,

How much is shipping to Australia for a calendar… I am sure that $4 won’t cover it!

  • Leah

I’d like to order a calendar with PayPal, but the link does not seem to be working. Could you check and let me know if it is correct? Thanks so much! Leah
