I am taking the rest of this week and the weekend off to celebrate the life of my dearly departed friend, Laurie Foley, as she is laid to rest. As I go, let me share with you her business and life manifesto. Words to live by, and words that she did live by.

    Thinking of you at this difficult time. I wish I had known Laurie. Her wisdom, decency, and humanity shine through everything you have ever written about her.

    Laurie’s manifesto made me remember a story about a man who had a similar set of rules to live by. Have I ever told you about Alan Baskin? I never knew him either, but his daughter once told me his amazing story in a bar. I’d love to share it with you some time. Here are his Ten Commandments:

    1. So What!

    Thank you Patty. Today I’m celebrating my son’s birthday. He would be 48 years old but left the world at 22 in Desert Storm. I’m going to get a cupcake and put a lighted candle in it to celebrate his life and the gift he is to me still. This is, of course, due to Laurie and I’ll send her blessings as well. Maybe you could ask her to look Tim up for me and give him a hug. <3
