your daily rock : listen to children

Children know.

Let’s listen to them.

Not halfheartedly, not over the top of our laptops, not in that patronizing way adults sometimes treat children, and not only for a moment until they pause and we can break away.

When a child speaks to us, ours or another’s, let us put everything down, turn toward them, and look them in the eye (if that is their preferred communication style).

Drop everything. And never interrupt a child. Listen fully.

Love,
