your daily rock : get perspective

When I was 16, I went on a plane ride for the very first time. Everything and everyone got really, really tiny as the plane ascended.

As simplistic as it sounds, it was a life-changing moment for me.

I had never had that kind of perspective.

And, of course, that plane had to land, and everything got big again. But once having seen how tiny we are, I couldn’t not know that.

And now, decades later, when I am triggered by someone or something, or anxious, or feeling hopeless, I close my eyes and imagine that plane ride–how amazing it was. And how perspective changes everything.

Today, take that flight. Get perspective.

Love,
