your daily rock : find courage

I wonder if we really find courage.

Or if we had it all along, and it was just dormant or hidden or inaccessible.

I think we’re born with an amazing courageousness. And we let it get small and hidden by comparing ourselves with others, absorbing the stories that other people tell us about us, and expecting way too little of ourselves.

“Find” implies it’s somewhere out there. It’s not.

It’s in here.

What courageous step can you take today?

p.s. I loved my recent conversation with some of the speakers at my upcoming Design Your Life Camp about courage, creativity, and community: Courage is required for creativity; creativity flourishes in community; community helps us find our courage. Tickets for Camp are available at a reduced rate until 8/31!
