your daily rock : leave a trail

Interestingly, I’m working in a beautiful State Park on the day when this rock appears. Hiking trails abound. And on hiking trails, the goal is to leave no trace.
But in life, I hope I am leaving a trail instead of leaving no trace. Is that ego talking? I think it is desire talking, and a willingness and drive to leave behind a trail that somehow enhances the lives of other people.
Imagine yourself in a boat going across a lake–what kind of wake you are leaving as a sign of your presence?
What trail are you leaving?
Love,
