your daily rock : carry a talisman

We all need something to ground us, something that has meaning for us, that reminds us of a promise we’ve made or a feeling we want to have again, or something that reminds us of someone we love.

For my younger daughter, Tess, it was a tiny little grape when she was younger, and now it is a tiny little plastic moose.

For me, it is orange and teal Buddhist mala beads, my father’s tiny and worn pocketknife, and a rock that says “open heart.”

What is your talisman? Carry it.

Love,
