your daily rock : travel light

My daughter Emma is getting ready for a six-week study trip this summer, so traveling light is front of mind for us right now–along with memories of my own college travels with a backpack. (And living light is a big part of my internal conversation these days too.)

I’ve written tips for travel before. I’m rethinking them to be even simpler. Certainly lighter.

Both in terms of what you carry with you physically and also what you carry emotionally.

Shed. Travel light. Pack only what you can easily carry. You won’t need the rest.

As Antoine de St. Exupery wrote, “He who would travel happily must travel light.

What’s in all those bags you’re carrying around? Unpack them.

Love,
