see and be seen.

For so many reasons, this is potent to me, and perhaps to you?

  • Great talk! Wonderful distinction between risk and trust, receiving and demanding. “Asking makes you vulnerable.” Reminds me a bit of Brene Brown.

Wonderful and thoughty talk. I think we’re often asking the wrong questions. This helped clarify that in a way that makes changing the question gentler.

wow. really moving–making clear the belief, the evidence that people want to connect with other people more than they want to buy product. I now want to find this woman’s music because it’s another expression of her experiences, her self–that is going to change the way I listen to it, allow me to welcome the new, the foreign, allow me to learn and be changed by it in a way researching/buying for style would not. Some would say that’s savvy marketing, but what I admire is that it is being alive in a world fille with other human beings.

  • I have a friend who tried to give up social media for lent…giving up her twitter feed/ “relationship” with Amanda was the hardest. Now I understand why. “When we really see each other we want to help each other.” Yeah, that’s the real deal. Thanks, Patti.

  • This is what vulnerability and community and deep trust/faith create, is
a world of sharing and having enough and thriving in what looks like
what could be a scarcity business model.

The ability to really see people is a powerful gift, and you Patti, share in that gift. It seems like the connection that she speaks of between artist and fans is one that you have also nurtured. Having experienced that connection sharing a rainy night of Neatloaf together as well witnessed that through the amazing response of the fundraiser done on your family’s behalf, I see that you also live and receive as a member of the global tribe of community and trust that she speaks of here.
