your daily rock : drop everything and help

“I don’t want to live in the kind of world where we don’t look out for each other. Not just the people that are close to us, but anybody who needs a helping hand. I can’t change the way anybody else thinks, or what they choose to do, but I can do my bit.”
-Charles de Lint

Sometimes helping others is not convenient. You have other plans. You have a full plate. You need help yourself.

That’s when it is important. That’s when it matters. That’s when it counts.

How can you help someone today?

Love,

  • I agree.
AND I my work world is full of those who want me to drop everything and help RIGHT NOW I DONT CARE WHO IS ON THE OTHER SIDE OF THE PHONE ITS ALL ABOUT ME RIGHT NOW AND NOW ADJUST YOUR LIFE TO TAKE CARE OF ME RIGHT NOW. (ps: i am NOT a Dr or RN, I don’t save lives or prevent death or curing some awful disease, as an everyday kind of thing)
Clearly, I need some hummus and some time in NC.

  • Inspired by your blog about living a hands-free life, and a Toni Morrison challenge to let my face show that I am happy to see those that I love, I am seeking to drop everything and welcome…my partner home from work, my mother’s calls…the presence of those that I love, the opportunity to spend moments together. It is embarrassingly difficult to do, even for the few moments it takes to offer a greeting.
