your daily rock : ignore what people say

One of Don Miguel Ruiz’ Four Agreements is this: “Don’t Take Anything Personally.” This is a practice that requires, well, practice. When I get triggered by someone’s hurtful comment, I try to remember that the most powerful person in a tug of war is the person who doesn’t pick up his or her end of the rope. Here’s how I process it, in part: Breathe in (Hello moment). Breathe out (I am here). Breathe in (I am not going to pick up my end of the rope) Breathe out (This is not about me). Breathe in (Hello moment). Breathe out (I am here and I am whole).
Can you let go of your end of the rope today?
Love,
