Your Daily Rock : Make it Your Own

If you insist on disavowing that which is ugly about what you do, you will never learn from your mistakes.” –Cassandra Clare

I know we all make mistakes in our lives. We all hurt others, intentionally or unintentionally. I don’t mind that—I think that is how we learn and move forward. But we can’t learn and move forward if we don’t own those mistakes, if we explain them as merely someone else’s “story” about us, someone else’s “interpretation” of our actions. Let us own our actions, learn from them, tell the truth about them, and embrace them, not “spin” them.

What do you need to “own” about yourself today in order to learn from it?
