mindful monday : let it go.

The three questions on my arm are a constant reminder:

How well did you love?

How fully did you live?

How deeply did you let go?

2012 is the year of letting go for me.

Letting go of preconceived notions about my work in the world. (Can I work and stay home? Can I work in a way that allows me to write more?)

Letting go of my ideas of what my body can or cannot do. Iron Girl Triathlon, here I come. (Swim lessons, here I come first).

Letting go of split intentions. (Following my true desire line)

Letting go of what might have been. (Embracing what fully is)

Letting go of the worry about how I look when I dance or move. (Groove, drum, create, here I come)

Did you carry into 2012 a hurt of some kind?

Let it go. It is keeping you from your joy. Decide to be happy instead of right.

Did you carry with you a sense of dread?

Let the thing you dread go. It is dead weight. You need your arms for carrying things you love.

Did you bring with you a fear of not knowing?

Let it go. You can’t know.

Let it go. Whatever it is. You know it is weighing you down like a stone in your pocket in the river, making it hard to breathe the new clean air of a new year.

To let go takes a leap of faith. It takes letting go of your ego, the thing that demands to be right, demands attention. Loss and leaving are beautiful parts of life–they clear ground for the new.

Clear ground.

Let it go.

Feel your heart and spirit soar.
