leavings.
Emma left to go back to college for her spring semester yesterday afternoon. Before she left, the three females in our house went to have manicures and pedicures together, a first for all of us to do that together. She was driving Nina, the car my dear friend Nina left to me in her Will. And just before Emma left, we made photos in the front yard. For some reason–perhaps because I believe this is the last extended stay she’ll spend with us–it was a more poignant leaving than usual. Even the dogs, Blue and Perry, were sad.
I love you to pieces, Emma. And I love that you are creating your own life out in the world. Call your mother.
