Teaching calculus from your dining room table.

body :: my place and yours

This is, like, a dream come true. Fig? Fennel? Almond? Chocolate? Yes, yes, yes, yes.

I wonder if Cheerios and/or slices of cool, cool watermelon would be an acceptable meal for a meal co-op? Perhaps they mean to actually COOK something. IN THIS HEAT? (Thanks to Mary Garcia for the article – great idea!)

That, my friends, is a gorgeous pie. To pre-bake or not to pre-bake? That is the question. I'll happily be your tester.

As to ‘writing about writing,’ there’s also ‘reading about writing,’ which I seem to do a lot. I think the attraction is that those of us who love words and books think of writing as a bit magical and that perhaps if we read enough about it, we’ll learn the secret.

Then again, for some of us some writers are like rock stars (or Johnny D), and we’re just writer groupies ;-)

I precook my crusts for pumpkin pie and use autumn-themed cookie-cutters from Williams-Sonoma to make decorations that I plop on top of the filling before the final baking, much like the circles on the sour-cherry pie….
