I love Tess’s approach. When I was younger, I used to make “menus” for my parents that contained checkboxes. They’d check what they wanted, and I’d bring them “breakfast” in bed, something complex, like cereal or an English muffin. I *think* I was allowed to use the toaster …
I don’t have any pets. But if I did, I’d have a dog. Probably a Golden Retriever or a yellow Lab.
Yes I have pets. Simba the orange cat. He will be 11 in June. He was born in a dumpster in St George, Utah and I adopted him from a rescue organization when he was 8 weeks old. And then there’s Slim the black and white cat. He’s around 3 or so. He wandered into our backyard a year and a half ago and stuck around even tho I took him to the vet and had him shot and de-balled. So he must really like us!
Had a dog for 18 1/2 years. She died when Meg was one in a half. We will get another dog in about two years, when Philip is a little more able to handle himself. I can’t wait. We puppy sat a friend’s dog last week, and Philip didn’t want him to leave. I know our next door will find us when the time is right.
That was supposed to be, when Meg was one AND a half. And I know our next DOG will find us when the time is right. I’m now working with dictation software and just getting the hang of it.
Love Tess’s drawings. If someone had told me 10 years ago that I’d have a dog, much less two, I would have fallen on the floor laughing. Somehow, ‘though, my husband talked me into a shih tzu puppy about five years ago, and then into another one two years ago. I now act like the people I used to laugh at: talking baby talk to the pups, buying them cute sweaters, etc. I love how we can never be sure of how things will turn out.
Yes, we have two cats, Joe Joe and Ruthie. But their formal names are Bazooka Joe and Baby Ruth. I always said if we got another cat it would be Slim Jim. :)
