thinking thursday.

Odysseus Every Thursday, a few links, including one to you-know-who. (Where I can follow the serendipitous thread I followed to get there, I'll include a thanks to the person who surfaced it for me.)

mind :: my brain and your

I think we might be a sleep-deprived nation. (Thanks to M. Khalil Islam-Zwart)

I want to read this memoir. (Thanks to Jena Strong)

What a logo does not have to be or do.

body :: my place and yours

Speaking of "places," I am happy to go back to Raleigh, NC, to do another reading on December 12th!

Humans are sometimes idiots.

"There is a power in the transformation that starts taking place when power surges heat us up from the inside out. There is a power in the knowledge that we have nothing to prove, not one damn thing. There is power in knowing that we have every single thing we need, that we need nothing else, that we are fully human and gorgeously odd and contradictory and beautiful just as we are. That we are hot in the very deepest, richest, metaphorically resonant use of that term. That we are not broken. That we don’t need to be fixed." – from my recent guest post on Liz Scherer's blog. (Thanks to Liz for asking me to contribute to her important work in the world).

soul :: my heart and yours

Back from war, but not really home.

How can you create fiction when reality comes to call? oh, yes.

I am going to develop a yoga practice after spending an hour a day doing yoga at the recent LIAV retreat. Yes I am. Don't try to stop me. I think I will find much in it that I need.

Give my love to Rose.

A final thought :: "The best way to find out if you can trust somebody is to trust them." –Ernest Hemingway

  • A yoga practice is the back bone of my life – even on days when I don’t get anywhere near the mat. I’ll be cheering you on – let me know if there is anything I can do to help. I’m about to make some wee custom videos for friends in far flung places with mini yoga practices customised just for their needs – let me know if you’d like one too.

  • Hi Patti,

I love the linking in Thinking Thursday, especially enjoyed hearing the Boss. ;) As a Blogger for myself and for my clients I prefer links that open in a new page. What are your thoughts?

First, because I can leave that tab open and check it out later, like Kevin’s memoir. Second, because sometimes readers forget how to go back with the back button and may inadvertently close the page you’d linked to and lose your site as well.

Do you post your own posts? TypePad offers an easy peasy way to do this: When you highlight the text you want to hyperlink and click on the link icon the menu box has an option ‘open in new window’. Check the box and the magic HTML is done for you. ;-)HTH!

PS~ am soooooo happy to see Writing Friday back in your weekly posts.

    Vugs!
