Sit yourself down
Sometimes the message you need arrives in your inbox just at the moment when you needed it most. Or at your front door holding a six-pack of Blenheim's Ginger Ale, the newest People magazine with Michelle Obama's awesome arms on the cover, and a case of Thin Mints. Just sayin.
That's what happened with this email and photo, which came to me on one of Those Days We Like To Forget:
Hi Patti!
Life is a Verb has been my loyal companion over the past few months. We've shared conversation on park benches, in coffee shops and in bookstores. She's made me laugh, cry (in a good way) and really challenged me to be a better person…like all good friends should. So, with reckless abandon, I've pasted my own picture on the back of your book because I've so identified with your words. (…Sound familiar?) I only hope that when I become a Mom someday, I'll be able to share a similar wisdom with them.
With love and laughter, Jeannie
Patti
Some of you might remember my similar story of identification. Jeannie Nguyen, you really really made me smile. And cry.
I'm thinking we should all sit ourselves down and write a letter (thanks to Wendee Lee for pointing me to that link).
