Kiss a snowman
Snow. Heavy, wet snow. Big thick flakes all day.Comfort food for dinner, now watching movies with Emma. "Finding Neverland" (I'm a teeny weeny bit fond of one of the actors in it) and "Pride and Prejudice," which we have watched together no fewer than 463 times.
This gorgeous photo is of Tracy Scott who first posted it on her Facebook profile, where I fell smack dab utterly in love with it.
"Might I post it on 37days?" I asked. She sent it with her blessings, and with an accompanying poem–"I also wrote a poem a few years ago when I was going through a break up, inspired by this picture," she wrote. My thanks to Tracy for the snowman's kiss on this snowy, snowy day.
The Snowman's Kiss
The ice is melting
and breaking up.
When I kissed you, I admit,
I nibbled a bit of your frosty face.
It is still cold in my mouth.
You are wearing a brown hat.
I think it makes you taller than you are.
Your arms are sticks from the nearest tree.
I remember the sound of the cracking break.
My hands are on your face.
So small.
I wonder about you.
I am feeling guilty now, as you begin to melt.
I took a bite of you that could have helped you stay
a little longer.
