Light-skinned-ed Girl talks to me

Heidi I love this woman’s writing and so am very pleased that Light-skinned-ed Girl is the first stop on the Life is a Verb Blog Tour! Heidi crafted an interview with me to celebrate the book, and you’ll see the results here. My thanks, Heidi!

Her book, Light-skinned-ed Girl, will be published Fall 2009 by the fabulous NC-based publisher, Algonquin Books. Chosen as the 2008 Winner of Barbara Kingsolver’s Bellwether Prize for Literature of Social Change, the book is the story of a young girl’s coming-of-age complicated by society’s ideas of race, class and beauty.

You will hear much more from this writer. Go, enjoy her interview with me–and the rest of her blog!
