It’s not quite an Airstream, but hope springs eternal

Verb_bear As customer reviews begin to appear on Amazon for Life is a Verb, and as I begin to get emails from around the world about the book, I am truly humbled by your words. As my friend, Mike Wagner, said when all the incredible art starting flowing in for the book from around the world, this feels like a community barn-raising, a collaborative lyric poem.

My publisher tells me that reviews on Amazon and B&N online really do matter in the world of getting a book out into the hands of people who might need it, and so I hope if you are enjoying Life is a Verb (or will be soon), that you will take a moment and leave a review for others. You can do so even if you didn’t buy your copy from Amazon or B&N. My deepest appreciation for doing so.

The book tour that 37days readers are putting together for me is fantastic! My first stop will be in Seattle on September 10th at the UVillage Barnes and Noble at 7:30pm. I hope to see you there or at some other venue along the way. If you’re interested in having me come your way, send a sign. Look for me this fall in Seattle, Asheville, South Bend, Madison, Minneapolis, Augusta, Greensboro, Cleveland, Waynesville, Reston, D.C., Durham, and Sarasota. You can get up-to-date info about the Verb tour schedule here.

A special one-hour, free teleconversation will be hosted on September 2nd at 12noon (Eastern) to celebrate the official launch date of the book – I hope you can  be there via your happy desk phone! Have questions for me? You’ll have a chance to post them before the call and vote on the ones you’d like the hosts to ask me. You could join me in your jammies! Did I mention I once interviewed Stevie Wonder while in my jammies? Focus, Patti, focus.

Lifeisaverb_blogtour And a special BLOG TOUR will take place in September, featuring interviews with me, reviews of the book, and more on the blogs of many fabulous people whose voices you should hear and know about. More on that on September 3rd when the tour starts. (If you are interested in participating, let me know as soon as you can, with BLOG TOUR in the subject line! A note to blog tour participants: you’ll receive this badge for your site as soon as I can figure out how to send it with the necessary html! My thanks to Lindy Dreyer for her fogdirogging generosity in creating it!)

Flying Delta in Seat 33E crammed between two men who like to read the newspaper spread-eagled is not quite the way I had hoped to meet you. But once I get my Airstream–I feel certain the president of Airstream will soon answer my plea for a nice refurbished 30-footer (with a million dollar gas card)–I can meet you anywhere along the way!

    Hi Patti,
A frequent lurker wishing you all the deserved success in your new book launch.
Are there any chances that your book tour will extend to NYC?

    Best,
    Hoodnik

Reston? Cool! That is right down the street. I’ll be there!
