Day 13 :: Arrive right on time for everything that matters

Janet_smith If I had 37 days left — I would take off my watch and pack it up with all the others, give them to someone less fortunate than myself.

I would arrive right on time for everything that matters – for every moment I had left. For the first time I would follow, with every step, the second hand of my heart beat.
-Janet Smith

This gorgeous, simple, simply gorgeous answer has so deeply moved me. Three sentences that tell me so very much.

Take off your watch. Arrive right on time for everything that matters. Follow the second hand of your heart beat.

How would your life change if you truly did that?

A copy of Life is a Verb will be sent to Janet in Michigan with my thanks for the clarity about my life’s rhythms.

Send your answer to the question, "What would I be doing today if I only had 37 days to live" and those posted before the publication date for the book (Sept 2) will receive a signed copy!

simply beautiful… i gave up wearing a watch years ago. and when i had a job that required me to wear one every day, i never wore it on weekends. it just made me feel more free not to be tied to the time on my days off. even now tho, i usually have my cell phone along, which replaces the watch as it shows the time.
    i guess i can’t escape entirely!
