Giving voice

I think you might know that I have a book coming out in September. What you might not know is what makes me the proudest about that book. You’ll find out in this short audio file.

Thanks to the ever-generous Rick Hamrick, I believe I’ve actually figured out how to post part of a podcast done recently by Christine Martell and colleagues for ASTD Cascadia, a group for whom I’ll conduct a workshop in Portland, Oregon, this July with my business partner, David Robinson.

I wonder if my voice will be a surprise, after all these years of small black lines on a page, eh Rick?

  • Patti, I totally recognize the North Carolina/Sri Lanka/UVa/Washington,DC accent.

When we enlist you in our choir, we’ll send you the alto part.

Best success with the book launch, my friend!

Wow, Patti, you sound nothing like I remember! I hear the timbre and harmony of a life well lived and a world well traveled and a soul well searched. So much richer, so much more cultivated,so much clarity of vision in your voice.

    Hey, you grew up good!

What a great interview. LOL over Rick’s comment re: your accent.

Damn girl. You talk good. Just wanted to hear you say Johnny Depp and Billy Collins.

great interview! it was really nice to hear your voice–
one step closer to actually meeting you in september
and looking forward to it! XOXO

  • The interview was wonderful, Patti… and I can’t wait to read the book. I’m an artist, so I’m encouraged that the publisher embraced all the art work that poured in! As I continue work on my memoir-in-progress, I’m inspired by your vision. I nursed my father through his last days with lung cancer in 1998, so I can relate to that part of your journey. My “children” are 25, 27 and 30, but I hope it’s not too late for my writing to bless their lives.

  • Patti, the voice is a wonderful thing to share. Your voice is as full and rich as your writing. Thanks for sharing! I am so looking forward to reading your book when it comes out and to help spread the word.
