Know five things

DinosaurI used to be so tech savvy. I was an early adopter of technology. I had a Psion before anyone knew what they were. I had email long before anyone else, even before my office had computers (my lord, I’m old). I always had the newest, sweetest, hippest technology around.

I’m ancient now. I barely have an iPod. I have one, but Emma has to load stuff onto it. I don’t know how to podcast or create the pretty banner and design for my blog that I want it to have. I don’t have a Blackberry and I have no real idea what RSS is or does. I’m a dinosaur. And it happened so quickly.

So, when first Delaney Kirk and then Jill Fallon "tagged" me for a "meme" about "five things people don’t know about you," I have to admit that I was lost. What does it mean to be tagged and what’s a meme? I found out, I think, and have posted my responses – Five Things You Don’t Know About Me – here. I am humbly lumbering back into the 19th century with my tiny ice age brain.

I think that it is far more useful to the world that you spend your time doing the things you are good at, like writing this blog, than worrying about the aesthetics of it… There is no need to learn how to master all the new technologies, as long as you have resources that allow you to use them effectively.

    As always,
