An Invitation to 37 days

3 Jan 2005

It’s a whole new year. I got up very early this morning and as I sat with my first cup of coffee, I realized that I’ve set and broken many new year’s resolutions over the past decade. One that just keeps getting pushed back is to spend some time and energy thinking and writing every day. Rather than just feel guilty about it, and to help myself develop the discipline to do that, I decided at 6:00 this morning (perhaps I should have had another cup of coffee before deciding?) that I would write a short newsletter (to myself, really) every Monday this year.

If you’d like to receive it throughout the year, you can subscribe to this blog or you can send an email to pdigh@realwork.com with "subscribe 37 days" in the subject line. If you’d like to send it to other people, please do. If you have feedback, let me know. It’s embarrassingly low-tech – from my dining room table to yours – and I just hope the formatting isn’t completely screwy by the time it reaches your inbox. If anyone actually wants to receive it, I’ll figure out how to better format it for distribution.

If one of your New Year’s Resolutions is to cut down on email and stuff to read, and you don’t want to receive it, I certainly understand that, too!

All the best for 2005!
